A different kind of art...

Image
I do a lot of art outside of the kind from my stories and books. I don't often post them because of the nature of what they are- a view into what some may mistake for my political persuasion.  A lot of them are political, religious, or socially commentative. I keep them to myself because nothing brings out the pitchforks and the torches like politics and religion. And although they are images I might have drawn, they do not necessarily reflect the full context of my beliefs. The problem is keeping them to myself detracts from my authenticity, and I firmly believe that a person should always be authentic, regardless of who's at the draw bridge trying to burn the castle down. In all probability, authenticity is the reason someone will want to burn the castle down.  Despite all that, these are actually a commentary on my feelings about radicalization, they could, and some of them do have blue ties on. I just don't have web images of those, so I posted the ones I do have in &qu

The bi-weekly... nope, this time it's a Halloween story.

Instead of an audiobook this time around, and because it is Halloween, I decided to post a different kind of story. Sometimes I like to go back to my roots for a different kind of storytelling. They are retold until someone decides to commit them to internet lore. Most, if not all, have an element of horror to them. Despite their reputation for being "lower" quality, and literary dreg, some are very well written and well put together. Some... not so much.  These days I stay away from the chart r

The Bi-weekly Audio... Story?

On this site, I usually write about the craft of writing and authorship. I provide tips about syntax, grammar, imagery, theme, plot, (etc.). I advise on character building and creating meaningful story arcs. I strive to help other writers build worlds and tell stories through the art of writing. The end goal is to help other writers hone their pens to a shaper point. I spend a good deal of time going over the academics of the craft. I talk in-depth about the mechanics of writing itself, and I describe what I feel writing is all about. But I rarely touch on the more esoteric parts of storytelling. In other words, I talk about what makes writing good, not necessarily what makes good writing. I rarely talk about other forms of storytelling; I hope to change that as I expand my craft.   Recently, with the development of my art, I have found little time to read actual books. However, I have increased the number of audiobooks I listen to, it's not how I want it, but I'll take what I
